Skills for Employment

 

Program Description

The Skills for Employment Program is designed to assist participants in their active job search through the development and maintenance of employment specific skills.

TRAINING PROGRAMS

  

Who can participate in ATN Programs?

Picture of hand on keyboardAny adult with a disability or barrier to learning or employment who is interested in pre-employment training utilizing computers, literacy or numeracy upgrading, assistance finding employment, or a work experience placement, may participate in ATN Programs.

Each participant is assessed prior to the beginning of training.  Using the information gathered from this assessment, and in close consultation with the participant, a customized program plan is agreed upon.  Progress is carefully monitored; each participant is able to work at his or her own pace throughout the program.  Classes are never larger than 10 participants to ensure individuals receive the personal attention they require.

Introductory Computer

 

The Introduction to Computers program is a general introduction to computers and word processing.  It might be useful to those who would like to enhance or refresh existing skills.

 

The focus of the program is...

To enhance keyboarding skills and give participants a thorough introduction to Microsoft Word.  Also included are brief units on using the Internet (Internet Explorer) and Windows.
